Of the 55 counties in the state, Hampshire County had the most land and farms for sale. The most expensive land listed for sale in West Virginia on Lands of America recently was $4 million, although the median price for land for sale in West Virginia came in at $163,633. The average price of land for sale in West Virginia was $234,437. There was 894 acres of sold land in West Virginia recorded in September 2018 through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a decrease in sales activity over August 2018 data. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $2.2 million.
